With just a few days left for the exam, candidates might find it difficult to remember all the important guidelines of CLAT 2023. Therefore, College Dekho has prepared a comprehensive list of what a candidate should do on the exam day and what all he / she should steer away from. They must go through the list provided below to recollect the dos and don'ts of CLAT 2023.

CLAT 2023: Dos
1) The candidate must have downloaded and taken a printout of his / her CLAT 2023 admit card at least a day before the exam. Keeping this for the last day can create unwanted hassle and stress for candidates.
2) It is best to keep aside all the items that are to be taken at the CLAT 2023 exam centre a day prior to the exam date. This will help candidates to not forget something at the last minute and have everything they require.
3) The applicants must go through all the instructions mentioned on their admit card of CLAT. The authorities at the exam centre will follow the guidelines strictly.
4) Candidates can enter the Test Centre premises at 01:00 P.M. and must be seated in their respective places in the Hall/Classroom by 01:30 P.M.
5) They will not be able to exit the Hall / Classroom before 04:00 P.M. once you have entered it.
6) Applicants arriving after 2:15 p.m. will not be granted access to the hall / classroom.
7) They are not authorised to use the restroom after entering the Hall / Classroom.
8) Knowing the exam day procedure properly will help candidates in saving time and they will also not be confused about what has to be done at the exam centre.
9) One of the most important things that have to be done on the CLAT 2023 exam day is reaching the exam centre on time. The student must leave for the exam centre well in advance, leaving enough margin for reaching the centre before the reporting time. Being late at the exam centre will render them anxious and that will have a poor impact on their performance. Therefore, it is highly recommended to reach the exam venue at least an hour before the exam begins.
10) It is advised to opt to carry limited and allowed items to the exam centre, as the exam centre does not guarantee the safety of your items.
11) Candidates are allowed to carry their own water bottles to the exam centre but it must be transparent.
12) Candidates will be allowed to wear a face mask. However, they may be asked to take it off for checking.
13) Every applicant must carry an identity card that has been issued by the government.
14) In stationery items, only one black and one blue ballpoint pen are permitted to be carried inside the exam centre.
15) No other item apart from those listed above must be with the candidate when the reporting begins at the exam centre.


CLAT 2023: Don'ts
1) No matter what, the candidate must not be late at the exam centre. The reporting process takes a while and candidates must have enough time at hand to complete the procedure.
2) Electronic devices are not permitted within the CLAT exam centre. As a result, it is preferable if you leave your cell phones or other electronic devices at your residence and do not bring them to the centre.  If you're coming with someone to drop you off, you can also give it to them.
3) Bags or any other items from the banned list will not be allowed inside the exam centre premises.
4) Carrying any other item apart from the ones mentioned in the admit card will not only be troublesome for the candidate on the exam day but it will also lead to the wastage of his / her time. Therefore, all applicants must carry with themselves only those items that are required.
5) If a candidate is feeling sick while giving the exam, he / she must not keep it to himself / herself. An examiner or authority must be informed about it immediately so that necessary steps can be taken if required.
6) The applicants must not leave his / her seat during the exam. If he/ she has any query, he / she can raise a hand and speak to the examiner who will approach.
7) Candidates must not talk to each other when they are in the exam hall. They must observe discipline and not make any noise.
8) It does not need to be mentioned that candidates should not try to resort to any unfair means while giving the exam. This will lead to serious consequences apart from his / her disqualification from the exam.

CLAT 2023 Exam Day Guidelines

Apart from knowing the dos and don'ts, it is also very important to be informed about the CLAT 2023 Exam Day Guidelines beforehand to avoid any later issues.The list given below mentions the CLAT 2023 Exam Day Guidelines that need to be followed.

  • Candidates must bring the admit card and a valid ID proof such as Aadhar, Voter ID, Passport etc.
  • Study material, paper or calculators are prohibited inside the examination centre, thus candidates should refrain from carrying such items.
  • Each and every candidate needs to participate in the thermal screening process if mandatory.
  • Nothing except the prescribed items are allowed within the exam centre. The list of the permitted items is given below.
  • Candidates must reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the exam starts. Entry would not be granted to those who reach the venue 15 minutes after the commencement of the exam.
  • Nobody will be allowed to leave the exam centre before the exam is over.
  • Verify the seating arrangement soon after entering the exam venue to avoid any hassle.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to seek clarifications from anybody while the test is ongoing.
  • Candidates must sign on the CLAT admit card 2023 in the presence of the invigilator. The signature must match the one uploaded in the CLAT application form.
  • Proper dress code is to be followed as prescribed by the Consortium. 


How to Attempt CLAT 2023 Exam

Maintain your emphasis on achieving a high score, for which you should devise an appropriate strategy for CLAT 2023 for the exam day. The following are some pointers for taking the CLAT 2023:

  • You must try the easier segment first in order to answer fast, allowing you to consider the more challenging questions afterwards.
  • Due to the negative marking in CLAT 2023, try to avoid the difficult question. Aspirants will have 120 minutes to finish 150 questions, with each incorrect answer costing 0.25 points.
  • Long excerpts from many subjects will be used to design questions for the CLAT 2023 exam. Read them attentively and respond to the questions using only the information from the paragraphs.
  • Before leaving the exam venue, go over your paper again if there is time for the exam to be over.
